A haircut can switch up your whole mood and style once you hear the first snip of the shears — and hopefully for the better. And if you ask us, Serena Williams’ new shoulder-grazing bob is certainly a mood-booster. The legendary athlete debuted her new haircut during Paris Fashion Week, and shared a picture of it with her over 14 million Instagram fans on March 3.
Williams first showed off her short haircut on March 3 at the Balmain Womenswear Fall/Winter show and gave fans another view five days later. This cut is different for the tennis star who tends to wear longer hairstyles in various textures. She opted for a sleek and straight style with a simple middle part. The bob just grazes her clavicle area for a gorgeous shoulder length. This shade is a greige blonde hue with dark roots for a slight ombre effect.
But she wasn’t the only one to wear a short cut in Paris. Her sister Venus Williams also showed out with a blunt bob, but went for a completely different style. Unlike Serena’s blonde hue, Venus’ hair is black. It’s a bit shorter than Serena’s hair, as well. It falls right around the nape of the neck. Venus has a pair of blunt bangs that just cover her eyebrows. Venus isn’t new to the world of bobs at all. On March 2, she shared a photo with her Instagram fans, which you can see here, showing the same hairstyle but with side-swept bangs instead.
Though Paris Fashion Week is officially over, we’re curious to see if these bobs will remain. The sisters’ contrasting takes on the same haircut is a great example of how a slight tweak in color and a few extra snips can completely change the look of your hair.
