American golfer Paige Spiranac has asked her followers not to joke about Tiger Woods’ participation in the 2022 Masters.
Woods’ return to golf is yet to be confirmed, with the Masters taking place in less than a week’s time on April 7-10.
“Anyone who reports Tiger Woods is playing the Masters as an April fools joke tomorrow should be thrown in jail,” tweeted Spiranac.
Will Tiger Woods play in the Masters?
Woods has been quiet about his future in golf, stating that his participation will be limited. He last played in the Masters in 2020, finishing 38th as he tried to defend his title from the year before.
Back surgery and a big car accident in 2021 meant Woods hasn’t played in an official tournament for over a year.
The five-time Masters champion has been seen practicing at Augusta National in March, suggesting he may play in the first major of the year.
