Simone Biles and her relationship with her biological mother
Life has not been without its ups and downs for Biles. One cannot understand the magnitude of her achievements without proper knowledge of her professional and personal life. Three-year-old Simone Biles, and her siblings, were introduced to foster care as their biological mother fought with alcohol and drug abuse.
Finally, when she turned six, her grandparents decided to adopt her. Since then, Simone treats them as her actual parents. Their strong bond makes Shanon hesitate to open up about the past to the Olympian. Shannon Biles once revealed her wish to unfold the truth before the gymnast. “I want to tell her what really happened when I was younger, but I keep waiting for the right time,” said Biles’ biological mother. “There’s a lot of stuff I want to talk to Simone about but I’ve been respecting them [Ronald and Nellie]”
Since 2007, Shanon has been sober and worked hard to live a regular and happy life. Despite being her biological mother, Shanon knows she lost her right to look after Biles.
She’s aware that rushing the process to build a bond with Biles won’t bring any excellent results. Therefore, she wants to go slow and take one step at a time.
